1) When and How to Use Probability-Based Sampling for Exposure Assessment Studies.
This workshop will introduce the principles of probability-based sample selection. Actual exposure assessment studies will be used to illustrate when probability-based sampling should be used and how these methods can be efficiently implemented. At the conclusion of this workshop participants should know when probability-based methods are and are not needed to support exposure study objectives, and they should have sufficient knowledge of sampling to work with a sampling statistician to design an exposure assessment study. (3 hours)
- Instructed By: Roy Whitmore
Target Audience: People designing population studies.
Special Needs: Basic statistical knowledge is needed to make the most of this course.
# of Seats: 30
Fee: $150
Date and Time : Sunday, October 30th 11:00AM - 3:00PM
2) Exposure Assessment for Environmental Chemicals Using Biomonitoring.
This program is designed to allow the participant to gain basic information that should be considered when developing methods for biomonitoring or when using biomonitoring for exposure assessment. The program will discuss the advantages and limitations of biomonitoring, the matrices which are commonly used, alternative matrices and methodologic issues. The program will also address issues for consideration when making measurements at various lifestages, especially fetal and early childhood exposure assessment. The program will feature three case study presentations that will highlight the complexities in measurements and data interpretation. In addition, a presentation on emerging chemicals in biomonitoring will be given.
